This recipe was tinkered with out of necessity. I did NOT want to keep buying these $5 filet-o-fish sandwiches at the fast food place for my tween.
This bun recipe was perfect for these sandwiches. You can make your own breaded fish and tartar or buy some in the store. Check back soon for other recipes on this plate!

Serves 8 - prep time 20 minutes - total time 3 hours 10 minutes

In a mixer bowl with whisk, mix yeast, 1/2 cup flour and warm water until smooth. Let rest 15 minutes. Whisk in egg, melted butter, sugar and salt. Attached dough hook and slowly add remaining flour while kneading on low setting. After combined, knead for 6 minutes.
Transfer onto flour dusted counter and gently form into a round shape. Lightly coat bowl will olive oil, transfer dough to bowl and cover with foil. Allow to rise for two hours. Lightly dust counter and transfer dough. Gently stretch to create 5x10 inch rectangle. Cut 8 even sections. Form into ball’s and place on baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover with plastic and allow to rise one hour. Bake at 375 F for 15 minutes.
